This home site combines two structures which provide living spaces for an extended family. A small upper portion of the site is fairly flat and was used to accommodate residents requiring easier mobility. The majority of the site is sloped and the main residence follows the grade. The long ends of the house face north and south with limited glazing toward the east and west. The primary views are to the south and the large windows are shaded by a deep porch and long overhangs. The main residence provides four distinct functional areas. Each are clearly expressed volumes clad in stone and metal.
